Sony to launch VAIO Tap 11 later this month

The Windows 8 operating system based tablet to cost $1300 (Rs 83,472 approx). Powered by Intel Haswell processor, the VAIO Tap 11 will feature 11.6-inch display, 4 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD storage.


Sony Computer Entertainment is expected to launch a Microsoft Windows 8 based tablet later this month. The new Sony tablet is touted as VAIO Tap 11 and will feature an 11.6-inch display. DigiTimes reported that the Windows 8 based Sony VAIO Tap 11 is expected to be launched by the end of this month. At this hefty price, we certainly hope that this tablet packs amazing hardware and features.

Sony is known for using the best of its homegrown technologies in the top products. The upcoming Sony VAIO Tap 11 is will have 11.6-inch display with support for full 1080p HD at least. The display also features Sony Triluminos technology and promises great colours as well as contrast levels. There are no details on the hardware this tablet will pack but it will come with a stylus for input.

The VAIO Tap 11 will weigh about 1.1 kgs including the large battery and will be under 1 cm thick. Sony has powered this large screen tablet with Intel Haswell processor and a 512 GB solid state drive for storage. There is an SD card reader along with Intel Wireless display support, Near Field Communication Chip, micro-HDMI and USB 3.0 port. To make the Windows 8 run smoothly, Sony has used 4 GB RAM in the tablet.
At the back lies 8 megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor that is great for taking photos and recording videos. The Stylus is branded as the Sony Active Pen meant for taking notes, drafting memos and even sketching. The tablet comes with a detachable keyboard with built-in battery. This keyboard also is slim like the tablet. Sony is expected to put a hefty price tag of $1300 (Rs. 83,472 approx.) on the VAIO Tap 11 tablet.
