Apple iPhone 5s from Gold Genie is up for grabs in three different options - gold, platinum and rose gold. The 16 GB model of the gold edition costs you £1,781 (about $2,853), while base model of the platinum version is priced at £1,865 (about $2,988). The rose gold variant of the iPhone 5s carries a price tag of £1,831 (about $2,934).

Apple's iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 rumored to be Launch on Oct 15

Its been romored that the Apple may Launch an event on Oct 15, for releasing its new iPad and the iPad mini 2. Yet Apple has not disclosed anything about the event. It is also been romored that it wil also come up with fresh new Macbook pro, iMac and even a new Apple tv. OS XMaverick is also expected to release on this event.

Samsung SGH-I187 is the New Windows Phone

A mysterious new Windows Phone handset produced by Samsung was spotted on the GFX benchmark site. 
The device sports a model number of SGH-I187 and is listed on the benchmark site as having a resolution of 720 x 1280. 
Remember, the GDR3 update will allow Windows Phone handsets to carry 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. 
Right now, this is the only HD screen resolution supported by the platform

The phone comes with the Adreno 305 GPU which gives us some possibilities here. 
The phone could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 or by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play or S4 Plus. 
Again, this is device has not been updated with GDR3 which explains the dual-core silicon powering the phone. 
Once the update is completed, Windows Phone models will support quad-core processors.

The GFX benchmark score places this unknown model ahead of the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Samsung ATIV S,
 but below the Nokia Lumia 920. The SGH prefix for the model number means that this device is probably bound for 
AT&T or T-Mobile (or both) in the U.S. Obviously, this is to be continued.

OS BB10.2 out with new Blackberry Z30

Newly announced Z30 is out with its latest OS called as BB10.2 Blackberry has made its Dirst evr largest Display of 5in Super AMOLED display.

Inside the Z30 is a 1.7GHz processor coupled with quad-core graphics. BlackBerry doesn't cough up more detail than that, but I can read between the lines. This sounds like the same 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU that Motorola's X8 chip is built around. The X8 also relies on quad-core Adreno graphics, which is awfully coincidental. Whatever silicon this is, it's a bump up from the Z10's 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 hardware.

7 THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT IOS 7

Earlier this summer, Apple unveiled iOS 7, which is the most ambitious change to its iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Apple TV operating system that we’ve ever seen. The new update brings a complete visual overhaul and a number of updated and upgraded features. There’s a little something for everyone here. But, with every change comes some good and some bad. There are always compromises and lingering issues. Below is our review of the new OS. For your reading pleasure, we’ve formatted things a little differently than usual. Here are seven things we love about iOS 7.

The new Control Center

iOS 7 has a surprising number of small upgrades, but the Control Center is the best of them. This highly needed menu is accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. It lets you easily turn on and off quick vital functions like Airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, the new Do Not Disturb mode, and screen rotation. (We wish the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth buttons would let you choose which networks or devices to connect to, but a toggle is a start.) The also lets you change the screen brightness and play, pause, or toggle the volume of any music or podcasts you have going. There is also access to the camera, alarm/timer, calculator, and a built-in LED flashlight. We haven’t used the calculator much, but everything else has come in handy on a regular basis.

The multitasking menu

We forgive you if you didn’t know that the iPhone had a multitasking menu in it. You could reach it by double tapping the Home button or, if you’re on an iPad, swiping up with four fingers. Instead of cramming it way down at the bottom, the new multitasking menu takes up the whole screen and lets you swipe up (and away) apps that you want to close, if they’re giving you a hard time or freezing up. As always, you don’t have to close apps for battery saving reasons. Apple does a great job of freezing them in place so they don’t suck up your battery life.

The new photo gallery

Gallery app innovation has been at a standstill for years. Until now, the iPhone has just shown a grid of photos that you must endlessly scroll through. Now, the Photo app intelligently organizes your photos in some new ways. The default “Moments” view shows you your photos organized by day (and labeled by location). If you back out a level into the “Collections” view, the app bundles them more broadly, again by date taken and location. Finally, a new “Years” view shows you every picture you took in an entire year. Cooler still, you can hold your thumb over the collection of pictures to preview individual photos and jump right to them. This app is great and we hope other phones follow Apple’s lead.

App Store automatic updates

The App Store has a few new categories, but the big feature this go-round is automatic app updating. We love this. Android devices have had it for a while, but that’s okay. Instead of forgetting to update and having 38 app updates waiting for you, iOS downloads updates on an invisible schedule that it sets. The system works well. We haven’t had to think about updates for some time, and we don’t mind that. By default, Apple won’t update apps using your cellular data. Instead, it will wait until you’re on Wi-Fi.

The new Camera app

Apple’s new Camera app has a few new features, some of which you might like. The best feature is that you can take pictures extremely fast by tapping on the shutter button. Instagram fans, there’s now a “Square” option and some built-in filters so you can make your pictures look old and washed out before you ever open Facebook’s photo app. Other features are less prominent. You can toggle HDR on and off (though Apple never explains to you what HDR is, which is un-Apple-like) and while you’re recording video, you can also take pictures of what you’re recording – a feature originally made popular by HTC. All good stuff…

Siri has improved

Apple has enhanced Siri in a few new ways. First, you can tell when it’s listening because a sound wave appears at the bottom of the screen. Now, if you want to look up a celebrity, you can ask what they’re “saying” or about them and Siri will show tweets or Wikipedia pages. By asking Siri “What is Molly McHugh saying” I got an instant link to our star Social Media Editor. It’s also now powered by Bing. It can help you navigate, play your voicemail, return calls, control iTunes Radio, and do other things, too. If you want to give Siri a sex change, you can do that; a male voice is also available.

The new visual design

We’ve been defending the design of iOS 7 for months. Seriously, we’ve defended it a lot, even as people nitpicked its icons to death. It’s a good looking OS and should be a welcome change for almost anyone who is considering an iPhone, or has been staring at the iPhone apps and homescreen for years. If you love glossy skeumorphic gradients, then yes, you will miss the way iOS has looked for the last six years. But times change, and this new design will grow on you. We promise. The new minimalist look to apps makes them easier to use much of the time, and as all apps begin to incorporate the new style, things will only improve.

Budget 5-inch Android 4.2 phablet

Lava seems to be on a bit of a launch spree lately, trying to dominate the Indian smartphone market. The domestic handset maker has launched a new mid-range smartphone, the Iris 505 at Rs. 9,499 after unveiling the Iris 506Q on Wednesday. The Lava Iris 505 features a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixel) display and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and sports a 5-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash while there is a VGA front-facing camera. The rear camera comes with features like Panorama, 99 continuous shots, face detection and smile detection.The Iris 505 includes 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G. Backing the device is a 2000mAh battery which the company claims can deliver up to 6 hours of talktime on 2G network while 4.5 hours on 3G network. There is no word on the total standby time of the device. Lava notes that the Iris 505 is FOTA upgradable that enables the device's firmware to update 'over the air', without connection to a PC. Much like the flagship smartphone Iris 504Q, the Iris 505 also features gesture control support. Earlier, the Lava Iris 506Q was officially launched for Rs. 10,999. Prior to this, Lava Iris 505 and Iris 506Q went up for pre-order through an ecommerce website.

Nokia India shuts down web version of its music store

As part of its mobile first strategy, Nokia India shut down the web version of its digital music store after running it for over 4 years.

A message on the company website said, "This Nokia music site is no longer available...You will not be able to download music from Nokia Music through your web browser, Nokia music player or Aditi."

The company, however, said people can download music through an active music subscription.

"To download new music from Nokia Music and listen to Mix Radio you will need to have an active Nokia Music Unlimited subscription," the message said.

The Nokia Music Store India was launched in August, 2009 at the Music Connects conference. It allowed users to browse and buy music in order to download on PC and compatible Nokia mobile device.

All Nokia music unlimited compatible phones will come with a free period of Nokia music unlimited subscription, after which the customers may be able to renew their subscription for a fee.

Asked about the shutting down of web version of Nokia music, a company spokesperson said: "We communicated the ramp down of desktop downloads in India back in 2011 as part of our mobile first strategy. We will continue to invest significantly in the success of Nokia Music in India."

Dell launches Inspiron 11 laptop for $349

If you like the size of Apple's MacBook Air, but can't afford the $1,000 price tag, Dell has just announced a similarly small laptop at a fraction of the price.

The Dell Inspiron 11 (not to be confused with the Inspiron 11z released a few years back) features an 11.6-inch Gorilla Glass screen, though you probably shouldn't expect anything like Retina display resolution for the starting price of $349. For that amount, you get an AMD processor, but you can upgrade to an Intel fourth-generation (Haswell) Core processor starting at $379.

Dell claims that the Inspiron 11 will deliver an impressive 8+ hours of battery life when using a Haswell CPU. It packs that performance in a system that weighs just 3.15 pounds and is 0.83 inches thick. As with most Dell systems, you'll be able to customize from the base configuration, with a maximum of 4GB of RAM and 500GB of hard drive space available. 

The Inspiron 11 will ship with Windows 8.1 installed and its display is touch-enabled to make use of the new OS's touchscreen capabilities. According to The Verge, Dell is promising that the new laptop (and other new systems) will be decluttered, with less bloatware and other miscellany mucking up the user experience.

Dell is making the Inspiron 11 available starting on October 3. 

BBM for Android may launch on Sept 20

For those of you who eagerly waiting for BBM messaging service on your Android phones, here's good news. As per a recent tweet by Samsung Mobile's.
Nigeria unit, the BBM for Android app would be available from Friday, September 20, onwards.
 However, according to the tweet, the app will initially be exclusive to Samsung phones for the first three months. Also, it is not clear from if the agreement is exclusive to Nigeria or is a global agreement.
After the initial three months, the app is likely to be available on all Android phones. Recently, alleged photos of the BBM app were leaked online and there were reports that it would be available to a select few accounts.

Reports were also doing the rounds that BlackBerry has been handing out invitations for an event scheduled for September 20. It is being expected that the

BBM would be made available for the iOS and Android operating systems. There are also speculations that BlackBerry may unveil its new Z30 smartphone at the event.

Google buys file transfer app Bump

 Google has acquired Bump, the maker of a smartphone app that allows users to share files by bumping devices together.

The two companies did not release financial terms of the deal.

In a blog post announcing the acquisition, Bump CEO David Lieb said the company's apps, which also include a photo sharing service, Flock, will keep working for now.

In a blog post from late March, Bump said that its namesake app was downloaded 125 million times. The Bump app was launched more than four years ago.

"The Bump team has demonstrated a strong ability to quickly build and develop products that users love, and we think they'll be a great fit at Google," Mountain View, California-based Google said in an emailed statement. Bump is also based in Mountain View.

6 Little Known Facts About iPhones

The first iPhone was invented in 1983!

Naturally, this wasn’t anything like the rectangular cell phone we know today. It was a land line phone with, instead of a touch screen, a built in stylus controlled interface.  It was designed by Apple computer developer Hartmut Esslinger, and foreshadows the touchscreen designs used by the iPad and iPhone today. He had also developed the Apple IIc, the first “portable” computer by Apple. It was never released to the public, but was kept in the Apple archives until the design was released in 1997 after Steve Jobs rejoined the company.
This iPhone isn’t the only prototype of Apple that never saw the light of day. Apple had toyed around with the iPad design for years before its launch. What’s interesting is that the 1983 iPhone device resembles an iPad with a phone, but iPads still lack this conventional phone call technology despite everything else they do. Perhaps the iPad appliance will enter that direction in its next iteration.

One third of U.S. High School students now have iPhones.

A recent semi-annual teenager survey by market research firm Piper Jaffray found that 34% of surveyed students now own an iPhone. This is an all time high, and double of what they saw last year. The reason for this, as explained by analyst Gene Munster is that the new low cost offerings by Apple have allowed many teens to get a phone. In even better news for Apple, 40% of the High School Students expressed their intent to buy an iPhone in the next 6 months, which is also at an all time high for the survey.

On a related note, 34% of students also said they had tablets. 70% of those are iPads. 19% of them said they would buy a tablet within 6 months, and 80% of those said it would be an iPad. Back in 2004, Bono and the other Irish rockers had a very close-knit relationship with Apple. The band filmed an iPod commercial, had their entire 400-song discography featured in the first iTunes 'Digital Box Set,' and even were featured on their very own limited-edition 'U2 iPod'! The band has since moved on to form a partnership with rival company Blackberry, but you can still see Bono's likeness on your iGadgets!

Clever, don’t you think? Jailbreaking is the colloquial term for hacking a device, typically an iPhone or iPad, to expand its capabilities to its fullest potential. When Jailbreaking first started to become big, people realized there needed to be a better way to distribute the hacks to make the process easier. 

 As a result, the open source distribution system Cydia came out. Cydia is generally the most popular of Jailbreaking software, just past Installer.app. Cydia is also now how most people get the hacks and apps not on regular iPhones.
 So why is it named Cydia? The created, Jay Freeman, says that he picked that name because of the worm cydia pomonella, which is often thought of as the stereotypical apple worm.

  

iPhones can survive falls of over 13,000 feet.

A skydiver lost his iPhone 4 in midair after jumping from 13,500 feet. Using a GPS tracking app, Jarrod McKinney was able to locate his runaway phone a half mile away on top of a building. Thankfully the phone landed on a building and not on a person’s head, or McKinney would be in a lot of trouble.

The screen was cracked, but not only was he able to track it down, he was also still able to answer incoming calls with it! McKinney must have been surprised by the device’s durability, especially since the same phone had previously cracked after falling a few feet off of a bathroom shelf. 

All advertisements for the iPhone show a time of 9:42.

Believe it or not, there is actually a logical reason for this! Whenever Apple releases a new product, they like to have the big reveal occur 40 minutes into each presentation. Therefore, the images onscreen show a time of 9:40...plus a minute or two because Apple knows the lead-up will never take EXACTLY 40 minutes.

Unlike the iPhone, the iPad ads all show a time of 9:41.

 

 

 

HTC Desire 600 available online for Rs. 28,900

         

HTC has finally rolled out the CDMA dual-SIM variant of its HTC Desire 600, the Desire 600c, through Flipkart for Rs. 28,900.

The HTC Desire 600c dual-SIM was listed last month on company's official website and was expected to be released soon. However, the Taiwanese handset maker has not officially launched the device, yet.
The HTC Desire 600c dual-SIM measures 134.9x66.78x9.55mm and weighs 127 grams. It features a 4.5-inch Super LCD 2 display with a resolution of 540x960 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that's coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. The HTC Desire 600c dual-SIM sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus accompanied by an LED flash and is capable of 720p video recording. There is a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with a BSI sensor.
HTC Desire 600c also features dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers. Connectivity options include 3.5mm audio jack, Micro-USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS/AGPS and NFC.

 It also includes an 1860mAh battery. The HTC Desire 600c dual-SIM is not a re-hash of its predecessor. Though the device sports almost the same specifications, it is not identical in design. The HTC Desire 600c dual-SIM is a CDMA variant and supports GSM/CDMA + GSM networks. The phone runs Android Jelly Bean with HTC Sense on top with BlinkFeed and other features. However, it's not clear at this stage whether the phone is running Android 4.1 or Android 4.2.
Earlier, HTC unveiled the Desire 600 dual-SIM in India for Rs. 26,990. The HTC Desire 600 dual-SIM runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.0 on top with BlinkFeed and other software features, seen earlier with the HTC One.

Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch for Rs. 22,990 and Galaxy Note 3 for 49,900 in India

 Samsung has launched its first wearable tech device, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch in India for Rs. 22,990, and it will arrive on Indian retail shelves on September 25. Unlike previous expectations from the pre-order availability of the Galaxy Gear and the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung has confirmed there is no bundled package of both devices available with a reduced price.

The Galaxy Gear smartwatch was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013. The smartwatch features a 1.63-inch (4.14 cm) OLED display. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch also features S Voice and can presently only work with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, a tablet which was also launched at IFA 2013. However, the company claims that soon the smartwatch will soon be compatible with other Galaxy smartphones like Galaxy S4, Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II. It can make calls, display messages, record videos and snap photos with its 1.9-megapixel camera.

Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch comes with 70 apps initially, as per the company, which include apps for basic fitness such as a step-counting passometer, although Samsung hopes this number will grow as developers get on board. The battery life, a key challenge for most wearable devices, is said to be around 27 hours under Samsung's normal-use tests.

                      

Earlier, Samsung's first wearable tech device went up for pre-orders with the Galaxy Note 3. Samsung also launched the third iteration of the Note, the Galaxy Note 3 in India for Rs. 49,900.



                     

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 5.7-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display, but weighing at 168g and 8.33m wide, is both lighter and slimmer than its predecessor.
It is powered by 1.9GHz octa-core processor and a 3GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera alongside 2-megapixel front camera. It is powered by 3,200mAh battery and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note 3 will be available in 32GB and 64GB variants. Both variants come with support for up to 64GB of additional external storage. Bill Gates - Richest American for 20th straight year

 

It's hard to think of a year in which Bill Gates wasn't at the top of the Fortune 400 list, considered as the definitive annual list of America's richest.
And so it goes: the Microsoft co-founder continues to be the wealthiest American for the 20th year in a row, according to the list, thanks to his total net worth of $72 billion, up $6 billion from 2012.
In second place comes Warren Buffett with $58.5 billion, up $12.5 billion from 2012. Despite the 25 percent increase in personal wealth year over year, it's still a notable distance away from Gates, who remains a major shareholder in the company he co-founded.

Oracle chief executive Larry Ellison is worth a massive $41 billion, remaining flat year over year, and pegs in at third place. 
It's little surprise that the technology industry is rated as the second-largest sector in which to see billionaires. Almost 50 names on the list are considered in the technology industry, taking a slice of 12 percent of the overall wealth pie.
Amazon's Jeff Bezos is ranked in 12th place with $27.2 billion, and just behind him are Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at 13th and 14th place respectively, worth a combined $49.3 billion. 

Mark Zuckerberg, who ranked in at 20th place, becomes one of the youngest billionaires in the list -- beaten only by Dustin Moskovitz, who is only a few days younger than Zuckerberg. The social networking giant's founder has an estimated wealth of $19 billion, thanks to Facebook's rebound on the stock market after an initially dismal year.

Current Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer ranks in at No. 21, up two places on the same list last year, who is now worth an estimated $18 billion. Ballmer recently announced his retirement from the software company, and a replacement will be sought in the next year.

Carl Icahn, who failed to acquire computer maker Dell as part of the company's privatization wranglings, is back in the top 20 list for the first time since 2008. Dell's chief executive, Michael Dell, is ranked in at 25th place with $15.9 billion. 

Meanwhile, everyone's favorite genius-turned-entrepreneur Elon Musk, who founded Tesla Motors, is now ranked in at 61st in the table, with a total personal wealth of $6.7 billion.
According to Forbes, the combined wealth of America's richest is worth about $2.02 trillion, or roughly equivalent to the total gross domestic product (GDP) of Russia.
